Awarded annually by the AIA, the Gold Medal celebrates those who have shaped the “advancement of architecture”.

This presentation focuses on the importance of shade in architectural design as a means to improve building performance in hot climates, provide a calming effect, and evoke silence. Godsell has lectured and published multiple architectural journals both locally and internationally, and is the recipient of numerous awards for this architecture.
